Job Title: Lead Support Staff

Reports To: Program Coordinator or Program Manager

Position Status:    Full Time

Exempt Status:   Non-Exempt

Working Environment:   75  Indoors (%)      25  Outdoors (%)

Position Summary:

The primary role of the Lead Support Staff will be to assist the Program Coordinator/Manager with the general oversight of the home. The Lead Support Staff is responsible for providing effective leadership and accountability which fosters growth and the development of Direct Support Staff team. The Lead Support Staff will provide comprehensive personal care, guidance, and the appropriate supports tailored to the needs of each client to prepare and promote each individual to live as independently as possible. 

Education Requirements: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

Previous Experience Requirements: 6 months experience preferred

Ability Requirements:

• Leadership and delegation

• Role Model - appropriate behavior to client and staff

• Autonomy - ability to work without immediate supervision

• Multi-tasking

Other Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

• Maintains a valid Class D driver's license

• Reads & understands, speaks fluently, and writes legibly the English language

• Ability to obtain and maintain valid CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications

• General meal preparation understanding, including ingredients, measuring sizes, and following a recipe

• Dynamic communication skills and techniques for working with an directing people with disabilities and challenges

Hours: Full-time evenings

Weekends/Holiday Rotation: Yes, may include every other weekend and some holidays
