Float Direct Support Professional - Full Time

Job Title: Float Staff
Reports To: Lead Program Director

Position Summary:
The primary role of the Float Staff will be to work directly with the individuals served and other support staff to provide quality services to all served at OMI.  The Float staff will help with training when needed and direction to other staff when the Lead Support staff or Program Coordinator is not on shift or if they are requiring support.  The Float staff will be trained to work in a variety of sites and must be versatile to be able to work with multiple individuals, employees and supervisors.   The Float staff is responsible for providing effective leadership and accountability. The Float Staff will provide comprehensive personal care, guidance, and the appropriate supports tailored to the needs of each individual served to prepare and promote each individual to live as independently as possible.  The Float staff will provide on the spot training, direction and corrective action if needed.  


*Will need to be available on the weekend, willing to work double shifts if needed, and flexible to changing hours as needs arise at the sites


Education Requirements: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

Previous Experience Requirements: 6 months of experience preferred

 

Ability Requirements:
• Lift at least 50 pounds
• Able to observe visually
• Able to hear
• Gross body coordination

 

Other Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
• Maintains a valid Class D driver's license
• Reads & understands, speaks fluently, and writes legibly the English language
• Ability to obtain and maintain valid CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications
• General meal preparation understanding, including ingredients, measuring sizes, and following a recipe
• Dynamic communication skills and techniques for working with an directing people with disabilities and challenges


Hours: Full Time, flexible to work the hours needed, days, evenings, and weekends
Weekends/Holiday Rotation: Yes, may include every other weekend and some holidays
