Job Title: Direct Support Staff - Full Time

Reports To: Program Coordinator or Program Manager

Position Status:    Full Time

Exempt Status:   Non-Exempt

Working Environment:   75  Indoors (%)      25  Outdoors (%)

Position Summary:

The Direct Support Staff is responsible for providing comprehensive personal care, guidance, and support to Organizational male and female clients respective to client needs.  This position is also responsible for promoting client independence through appropriate role modeling, administering client program and goals, and ensuring the client's personal needs are satisfied in a safe manner. 

Education Requirements: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

Previous Experience Requirements: No related experience is required

Ability Requirements:

• Lift at least 50 pounds

• Able to observe visually

• Able to hear

• Gross body coordination

Other Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

• Maintains a valid Class D driver's license

• Reads & understands, speaks fluently, and writes legibly the English language

• Ability to obtain and maintain valid CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications

• General meal preparation understanding, including ingredients, measuring sizes, and following a recipe

• Dynamic communication skills and techniques for working with an directing people with disabilities and challenges

Hours: Full Time

Weekends/Holiday Rotation: Yes, may include every other weekend and some holidays
