Position Summary:

The Program Director is responsible to ensure quality care for clients while maintaining compliance with state regulations. Responsible for providing training to staff on client care, policies and procedures, as well as how to maintain compliance with state regulations and county licensing requirements. Provide on call support and rotation as required by program.

Essential Duties: 

All duties to be performed according to the established standard and in compliance with all company policies and procedures while maintaining regular, prompt attendance:

  • Provide direction to Program Manager & Program Coordinator’s to ensure quality care for clients. Provide support to Program Manager & Program Coordinator’s to consistently and timely address issues encountered in homes/programs. 

  • Provide leadership to Program Manager & Program Coordinator’s through facilitating training, conducting monthly team meetings, monitoring work of Program Manager & Program Coordinator’s, managing performance, and coaching Program Manager & Program Coordinators to effectively address employee performance concerns.

  • Review and analyze various weekly and monthly reports including: progress reports, client program reports, occupancy reports, exception reports, money sheets, and medication administration reports.

  • Ensure compliance to state and county regulations governing the programs by reviewing all license requirements and completion status.  

  • Communicate the progress of client programs to Lead Program Director as needed or requested.

  • Completes two hours of volunteer services each calendar year from among the approved list of community sites.

 

Other Duties: 

  • Provide on-call support for staff and clients to contact to ensure quality client care.

  • Openly and frequently communicate to clients utilizing verbal communication and listening skills.

  • Respond to client behaviors as needed.

  • Fill-In for Program Manager & Program Coordinator’s while they are absent.

  • Actively participate and contribute in at least one Organizational committee.

  • Professionally represent the Organization and department or site to current employees, volunteers, vendors and community.

  • Participate in Organizational events and activities.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Observe all company policies, rules, and safety practices.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Physical Demands:

The tasks of this position generally requires duties to be performed by:

  • Occasionally and at times frequently lift and move up to 50 lbs. to waist height unaccompanied, occasionally lift and move up to 100 lbs to waist height with team assistance.

  • Regularly sit for duration of shift.

  • Occasionally required to walk, stand, or stoop. 

  • Coordinated use of hands and fingers to grasp, feel objects, transfer small items from one hand to another, fine manipulation, and bilateral reach with arms.

  • Use of close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Safety & Ergonomic Requirements:

  • CPR/FA Certified.

  • Must practice safe work practices at all times and report any unsafe conditions immediately.

  • Attend and participate in all required safety trainings.

  • Participate in daily ergonomic stretches and follow all ergonomic requirements of the position.

  • Follow all personal dress requirements according to the established dress code and safety requirements.

Education/Experience

Preferred Baccalaureate Degree in a field related to human services with minimum of one year of full-time direct care work experience and three years of supervisory level experience in a program providing services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older.

Will accept an Associate Degree in a field related to human services with a minimum of three years of full-time direct care work experience and three years of supervisory level experience in a program providing services to persons with disabilities or person age 65 and older.

 

Language Ability

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Math Ability

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills

Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook. Working knowledge of navigating and effectively utilizing the Internet.

 

Certificates and Licenses

  • Designated Coordinator per DHS 245D

  • Medication Certified preferred

  • CPR/FA Certified

  • Maintains a valid Class D driver’s license and compliance with Organizational insurance driving guidelines.
