Wellbeing Program

Wellbeing is a person's overall state of health including emotional, social and physical components. Wellbeing means taking care of yourself on a regular basis, recognizing when things get neglected and taking action to help find your balance in life. It is a holistic approach to living and incorporates five dimensions of wellbeing:

Physical: Person is able to manage daily physical activity, adequate sleep levels, nutritional choices, and sustains daily energy.

Career: Person finds their work fulfilling, resulting from their ability to apply their strengths and interests. Person has goals set, in which they truly attempt to accomplish.

Financial: Person is financially responsible and buys “experiences” rather than material possessions. They understand the dynamics involved with budgeting and can maintain a personally acceptable standard of living.

Community: Person feels safe and secure in their community. They are engaged within their community, by promoting improvement. They take pride in their efforts to increase their community through social and environmental efforts.

Social: Person has a strong network of supportive friends and family. Through this network they are able to grow intellectually and socially because they are accepted for who they really are.

Wellbeing: “The combination of our love for what we do each day, the quality of our relationships, the security of our finances, the vibrancy of our physical health, and the pride we take in our community involvement.” Ultimately, how these elements interact with one another determines our total wellbeing.
